As the year comes to an end, we are presented with the task of reflecting on our activities since our launch 4months ago. We are grateful to our team, investors, partners and most importantly our gamr community.

In the last 4months we achieved the following:

Secured pre-seed funding and backing from a number of investors.

Fostered a strategic alliance with FEJA; the biggest esport tournament organiser focused on Francophone African countries. This alliance was built to establish our footprint across west and central Africa.

Facilitated the presence of Nigerian representatives at the FEJA 2021 tournament in October, with 5 Nigerian gamers playing for the FEJA championship in the following titles; FIFA21, Street fighter, PES2021, Tekken7, and PUBG.

Signed partnership agreement with the Nigerian University Games Association, which provides us access to all 95 tertiary institutions in the country. This in turn means the easy integration of our University e-sports league for Nigeria and activation at campuses.

Hosted a first of its kind e-sports stakeholders forum in partnership with the French Embassy.

Successfully hosted 30 gamr tournaments across 10 titles, with PUBG, FIFA21 and CODM having the highest engagement rates.

The gamr platform aided 4 external tournament organisers in executing their tourneys and sourcing for gamers to participate. Two of these organisers were from southern and central Nigeria. 

Successfully onboarded additional 4,000 gamers to our community of over 60,000 after our launch.

These achievements set the right foundations for our goals to 

  1. Revolutionize the culture and adoption of esports and gaming in Africa.
  2. Be the number one destination for Africa’s 750 million gamers.
  3. A provider of easy pathways to professional e-sports player status for Africans.

Going into the year 2022, we intend to focus simply on aggressive growth and we understand this is not possible without our community, partners and investors.
