Gamr, Africa’s premier gaming tournament platform, is thrilled to announce its acceptance into the prestigious Build in Tulsa Techstars Accelerator Fall 2023 Cohort. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Gamr as it continues its mission to revolutionize the gaming landscape and empower communities across the continent.
Every year, Techstars Tulsa receives a multitude of impressive applications, and this year’s selection process was no exception. Gamr is proud to be among the 12 exceptional companies chosen who are poised to redefine industries and craft innovative solutions.
Furthermore, Techstars, founded in 2006, is known for its commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering innovation through collaboration and mentorship. It believes that great ideas can come from anywhere, transcending geographical boundaries, and we’re proud to have been selected for the accelerator program.
Techstars Tulsa’s industry-agnostic approach aligns perfectly with Gamr’s mission. The collaboration provides Gamr access to valuable mentorship, resources, and a network that will help refine its offerings and expand its reach within the African gaming community.
In just two years, Gamr has redefined the gaming tournament industry in West Africa, a move that has gradually expanded to the entire continent through the Gamr App and several tournaments.
We’ve hosted two editions of Gamr X, Africa’s biggest esports event, drawing almost 6,000 physical attendees from over 17 different countries in the continent in 2023.
Moreover, we’ve also launched Brackets, a platform where anyone can seamlessly host several types of gaming tournaments from the comfort of their internet devices.
As Gamr enters this new phase of growth, it aims to leverage the resources and mentorship provided by Build in Tulsa Techstars to enhance its offerings, expand its reach, and make gaming more accessible and inclusive in Africa. The company remains committed to its core values of collaboration, integrity, and respect, ensuring an inclusive and diverse gaming environment.
