The Red Bull Login festival with Gamr, a grand 48-hour gaming festival at the Ecobank HQ Pan African Center in Lagos, took place from December 15th to 17th. The first day saw intense competitions across various games like EAFC 24, Street Fighter, Apex Legends, and Gran Turismo. Nigerian music sensations Bayanni and Teni added glamour, engaging in an NBA 2K faceoff, while a DJ kept the energy high throughout the day with entertaining music.
Day 2 elevated the experience with insightful panel discussions featuring industry experts such as Osahon Akpata from Ecobank, Senez of Rage Gaming, Kevin, a Marvel VS Capcom 3 champion, Dominion Ero from Carry 1st, Dr. Ibukun Tunde focusing on mental health and posture for gamers, and Joshua Osadiaye from Meta. These sessions provided valuable insights into various facets of gaming, from digital engagement and management to health and technology.
A highlight of the second day was the content creation workshop, led by Daniel “Fehrminator” Fehr, the eWorld Cup-winning FIFA coach from Red Bull Leipzig and prominent Nigerian content creators. The competitive spirit continued with a FIFA tournament where Gift emerged victorious, winning a new PS5 console. In the Just Dance competition, a newcomer named Darling dazzled the audience, earning the title of ‘comeback queen’ and a Nintendo Switch Lite.

The day ended with the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende commending the Gamr and Red Bull teams for the event and also encouraging players to keep up their passion for gaming while balancing it with their educational and social responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of digital literacy and responsible gaming and expressed hope for the future of esports in the region.
