After ending their nearly 30-year partnership with FIFA, EA has unveiled their first stand-alone game, EA SPORTS FC as well as the competition for pro players. Instead of the FIFA Global Series, pro players will now compete in EA SPORTS FC Pro better known as FC Pro.
What you need to know about FC Pro
The FC Pro represents a premier competition centered on premier 1v1 matchups, showcasing top-tier global players as they gear up for the FC Pro World Championships. It offers a streamlined season with easy access for elite participants from both EA and League Partner events. The focus on 1v1 matchups comes as a disappointment to many players and viewers who preferred the dynamics the 2v2 events offered.
The FC Pro schedule is organized into clear competition phases. From the game’s debut until February, attention will be on the global stage with FC Pro Open. This begins with the FC Pro Open Ladder, from which the leading players will move to the weekly FC Pro Open, spanning eight weeks. Players who don’t make the cut can still engage in regional online challenges for rewards and recognition.
Between February and April, league contests come into play, facilitated by a league partner network. Here, winners will emerge, qualifying for the FC Pro World Championships.
In June, the elite from FC Pro Open and top players from League Partners globally will converge in the 32-player FC Pro World Championships. The pinnacle player of EA SPORTS FC 24 will be crowned here.
All tournaments in FC Pro
FC Pro Open:
Kick-starting with in-game contests, eligible contenders will gain entry into the competitive mode. A notable addition this year is the chance to participate in the FC Pro Open Ladder, facilitated by a tournament administration ally. This ladder fosters matches between the best in specific regional brackets. Within FC Pro Open, players can either stand solo or represent football or esports squads. The ladder emphasizes 1v1 duels and boasts a live leaderboard accessible externally.
Regional ladder champions will strive for an invitation to the FC Pro Open Regional Qualifiers, eyeing a coveted spot and a sponsored trip to the 64-contestant FC Pro Open Global Qualifier in November. The standout 16 from this qualifier, alongside the global top four from the preceding season, will feature in FC Pro Open. Those missing out on FC Pro Open can still dive into regional online bouts throughout the FC Pro Open phase.
FC Pro Leagues:
From February through April, competitions by League Partners will dot the globe, designating national victors and enabling players to champion their beloved clubs in the virtual realm. FC Pro Open competitors also have the green light for Official Football League bouts they qualify for. More information on these leagues will be available soon.
FC Pro World Championship:
The season culminates in a singular world championship, as there will be no Nations Cup or Club World cup. The top 32 players will compete in the first FC Pro World Championship by EA. More details about the competition will be released in the coming weeks.
