Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently the best-selling pre-order game on PlayStation and has hit a peak of 814,666 concurrent players this weekend on Steam. This record makes it the 9th biggest concurrent player count in Steam history.
The role-playing video game is the successor to Baldur’s Gate which was released in 2013. Baldur’s Gate 3 is the third major instalment in the renowned Baldur’s Gate series of video games, continuing the legacy of its predecessors. Developed by Larian Studios, the game is deeply rooted in the lore and mechanics of the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) tabletop role-playing game, specifically the 5th edition ruleset.
One of the standout features of Baldur’s Gate 3 is its multiplayer co-op mode, which allows players to venture through the narrative with friends. The game has already been released on PC, but PlayStation 5 and macOS users will have to wait until September 6.
Can gamers living in an African country download the game?
Since the game was globally launched for PC users on August 3rd, all players residing in an African country should be able to purchase and play the game, provided there are no local restrictions or regulations preventing access.
For PC and Mac users, the standard edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for purchase on both Steam and GOG (Good Old Games) at a price of $59.99. Opting for the GOG version provides a DRM-free copy, meaning you can play the game directly on your computer without needing a specific launcher.
Lastly, for those with a PS5, upon release, Baldur’s Gate 3 will be exclusively available in digital format. You can secure your copy through the PlayStation Store for $69.99.
