Former XSET VALORANT players and their coach have reportedly sued the organization over unpaid funds from the Champions 2022 skin bundle. According to Dot Esports, the players and coach instituted separate cases in a California court against XSET over proceeds from the skin bundle. Organizations received a cut from the Championship skin bundle back in 2022 and most shared part of the funds with the players who represented them at the tournament.
Details of the agreement between XSET and former VALORANT players
The former XSET players that are involved in the legal battle include Zachary ‘zekken’ Patrone, Matthew ‘Cryocells’ Panganiba, Jordan ‘AYRIN’ He and Rory ‘dephh’ Jackson. Their coach Don ‘SyykoNT’ Muir also filed separate legal action against XSET.
The players and coach allege that they agreed with XSET on a 50% split revenue, including the revenue from the VALORANT Champions 2022 skin bundle. However, XSET refused to pay them the 50% share agreed upon.
The court documents first shared by Dot show that XSET did not acknowledge earlier good-faith negotiations. It also shows that there was an agreement between XSET and team members for a 50/50 revenue share with each player and coach receiving 8.33% of all skin revenue sales.
As of now, there have been no comments for XSET on the ongoing case or on the money owed to the players.
